About the Author

MJ DeMarco is the current founder of Viperion Publishing Corp. which is a media company focused on online and print content distribution. Healso is current administrator for The Fastlane Forum, the webs' leadingdestination forum for start-up, finance, and entrepreneurial businessdiscussions.

He was the former start-up Founder/CEO of Limos.com (1997-2007), a global ground transportation aggregator and marketplacethat he successfully built and grew into a profitable multimilliondollar company, all with no money, no formal training, and with just afew employees. In 2001, he sold the company and later reacquired thecompany via bankruptcy reorganization. He later sold the company againin 2007 to a Phoenix based private equity company.

Not long ago,MJ DeMarco lived with his mother, mopped floors, and sought the dreamlike so many others: the dream to live free from bosses, 9-5 jobs andlife mediocrity. Through rigorous years of self-study, countless errorsand failures, MJ cracked the code to wealth and shockingly discoveredthat it had nothing to do with jobs, 401(k)s, mutual funds, orpenny-pinching your life away for 40 years.

By rejectingsociety's preordained "settle-for-less" financial roadmap, MJ was ableto "retire" YOUNG in his thirties without sacrificing lifestyle. (Yes,he drinks Starbucks coffee, drives exotic cars, and hasn't canceled themovie channels! OMG!) He lives in beautiful Scottsdale Arizona andenjoys traveling, dining, writing, softball, fitness, working out andobviously, has a fanatical passion for the Lamborghini marquee.

Overview

The E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber is one of the most recommended books for people who want to start a business if not the most recommended. Believe me, if you want to start your own business, you must read this book. Although, I have to say that I generally disliked the writing style. Michael also writes poetry and it somewhat influenced how he wrote this book; there is a lot of storytelling which made it difficult for me, at times, to get what he was trying to convey.

The E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber is meant to be concise, reminding me of high-level concepts and not trying to recreate the whole book. This summary is basically a bunch of notes and lessons paraphrased or quoted directly from the book and does not contain my own thoughts.

THE BIG TAKEAWAYS:

Regardless of how much money you make, the wrong way of thinking will cause you to fail.

People have been using the same road to wealth forever, but it’s no longer the right way.

Higher education is not always the answer.

Wealth isn’t always monetary.

That final goal of financial wealth is a path, not a jackpot.
