Event description

Description

Editors Dr Kate Ottevanger and Jan Lánícek will launch and discuss Life and Love in Nazi Prague: Letters from an Occupied City, an edited collection of letters from Dr Kate Ottevanger’s grandmother, Marie Bader. There will also be a discussion with Suzanne Bardgett, Head of Research and Academic Partnerships at Imperial War Museums.

To be published in May 2019 by Bloomsbury Academic, Life and Love in Nazi Prague is an illuminating personal account of Jewish life in occupied Prague, told through deeply personal and moving letters. Marie Bader sent these letters from Prague to her friend in Thessaloniki, from autumn 1940 until April 1942, when she was deported to Theresienstadt.
