Nick Hopkinson, former Director at Wilton Park - an executive agency of the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, provides an overview of new book 'The Policies and Power of Public Diplomacy – Wilton Park’s Road' - the product of a four-year project exploring Wilton Park’s higher-level discussion since 1946.
The volume examines Wilton Park’s work advancing policy thinking and international agendas on a wide range of issues including transatlantic security, arms control, UK relations with the European Community (now European Union), human rights, development, trade, the environment, health and new global powers, notably China. Read the book open access.
As part of China Week 2025, Nick Hopkinson joins Professor Kerry Brown, Director of the Lau China Institute to explore how Wilton Park’s discussions on China evolved and the changes in China's policy thinking since the late 1980s. Join us on Friday 24 October, 1pm.
