About this event

  • 2 hours 30 minutes

We are delighted to welcome Nicola Tallis to Alnwick Castle this October to celebrate her latest book, Young Elizabeth - the first truly comprehensive biography of the young monarch in over twenty years.

-

Queenship was by no means a certain path for Henry VIII’s younger daughter. By the time she claimed the throne, she had already endured more tumult than many monarchs experienced in a lifetime. This colourful and immensely detailed biography charts Elizabeth’s turbulent and unstable upbringing, exploring the dangers and tragedies that plagued her early life.

Nicola Tallis draws on primary sources including those written by Elizabeth herself to throw new light on the early life of this iconic monarch.
