About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

In the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Communication and Language and Physical Development are prime areas of learning—and movement plays a vital role in supporting children’s progress across these domains.

In this session, we’ll look at how purposeful movement can spark vocabulary development, support listening and attention, and strengthen the foundations for speaking and reading.

You’ll gain practical strategies that link directly to the EYFS areas of learning, particularly:

  • Communication and Language: developing listening, understanding, and expressive language through movement-rich experiences
  • Literacy: laying the groundwork for early reading and writing by strengthening motor skills and language structures
  • Physical Development: supporting fine and gross motor control essential for expressive communication and mark-making

Through playful, engaging activities, we’ll demonstrate how movement can be used as a tool to enrich storytelling, build confidence in communication, and deepen children's understanding of language in meaningful ways.

Let’s get moving—and talking—together!

Please note you will receive an email with the Zoom link before the event.
