About this Event

Boosting SMEs flood resilience through collaboration

1 Pandemic, 2 Tools, 12 Partners and 135 SMEs

We want to warmly invite you to this event in which you will have the opportunity to listen to the main challenges that SMEs, local and regional authorities, lenders, insurers, surveyors and brokers, as well as National Institutions have to improve SMEs flood resilience. We will also discuss how the outputs that we have developed for over a year can contribute to increasing the resilience of SMEs,

We have worked in partnership to advance our knowledge on ways to increase flood resilience of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This effort has contributed to provide tools to local and regional authorities across Yorkshire and the Humber; as well as to lenders, insurers, brokers, and surveyors, to increase our understanding of the economic costs that SMEs face and the actions that they take to protect themselves from flood impacts.

This event previously planned for April, has been postponed in order to allow our government partners and guest panellist to follow purdah (pre-election period) rules. Join us on the 9th June at 10.00 AM to learn about our innovative tools: the Tool to Assess the Economic Costs of flooding on SMEs (TAEC) and the Tool to Assess the Effectiveness of Resilience measures on SMEs (TAER) that we developed working with lenders, insurers, surveyors, and brokers.

A short presentation of the results will be followed by guest and expert panels where we will hear from:

1) Business owners of small and medium-sized enterprises across Y&H

2) Lenders, insurers, surveyors and brokers

3) Local Authorities - Flood Risk Managers

3) Regional authorities such as representatives from the West Yorkshire Combined Authorities and Environment Agency

4) National Institutions

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear about the challenges of flooding from the voices of our guests and see our findings on the innovative ways to increase SME flood resilience.
