Event description

Description

The Bootle Music Festival is back! After last year’s great success, the team at SAFE Regeneration, along with some wonderful sponsors has pulled together the BMF2019 – a weekend of amazing music, free family activities, food, fun and canoes! And under 10s go FREE!

The main stage line-up is a special one - including the lovely Tommy Scott, back to headline Saturday with his full band SPACE; The FARM are our Sunday headliners and we are delighted to welcome guitar legends Glenn Tilbrook (Squeeze) and Nick Harper as well as Dodgy – celebrating 25 years of their Britpop classic album ‘Homegrown’; Bootle’s own The Real People are back playing to the home crowd, incredible Soul, Blues & Jazz from Xander & the Peace Pirates and The Deportees and throw into the mix Mercury - an amazing Queen tribute band and Bootle – we will most definitely Rock You!

Add to that our unique canal-side stage which will be home to 12 local artists showcasing everything from seasoned performers to new, emerging talent. That's 23 acts over 1 weekend - all for just £25 (or £15 per day) and free for under 10s - incredible value!

Our family zone has some very cool free stuff like canoeing, climbing walls, yoga, alternative therapies, meditation, visual art 'zendoodling' workshops and much more. There will also be lots of lovely people from the local community giving advice and information on local health & environmental issues.

The food will be boss! Lots for everyone including vegetarian and vegan options and a great range of quality drink including our fantastic real ales brewed just yards away at the Stamps Brewery! As always we are keeping the prices realistic for everyone - expect to pay the same as our pub prices - no festival price hikes here!

Let's do this Bootle!

FAQs - these are based on things we think you should know, things we were asked last year and other random stuff!

What time do the gates open?

1pm

Can I buy tickets at the gate?

Well that depends...we have a limited capacity and once we reach it - that's it! So we can't guarantee tickets will be available on the day - best buy before so you are not disappointed!

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Adult (18+) wristbands require ID at entry - no alcohol will be supplied unless worn

Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult

Under 10s are FREE when accompanied by an adult

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Please don't drive! There is no allocated parking, so public transport is advised - the venue is 5 minutes walk from both Bootle Oriel Road and Bootle New Strand Station as well as the Strand bus depot where transport links are excellent across the region.

Can I leave the festival and come back in again?

Yes! As long as you are wearing your wristband!

What can I bring into the event?

No food or liquids to be brought into the event - infant formula/prescribed medication are the only exceptions. Water will be available to all and there will be several food vendors on site.

Will there be veggie/vegan food options?

Yes!

Can I bring camping chairs?

You can - however we are encouraging seating to be predominantly in the wellbeing field where there will be deckchairs available! The main stage area will be mostly for standing and dancing!

Are dogs allowed?

Sorry - our four-legged friends are not allowed into the event. We look forward to seeing them with their owners as usual in the Lock & Quay after the weekend! :)

Do you have accessible facilities?

Yes, the site is flat with few obstructions and we have accessible toilets on site. Wheelchair users will also have a specific access area at the main stage

What happens if it rains?

Rain? It never rains in Bootle!!! Ok, if it does, we get a bit wet and muddy and have a ball! Seriously though, we keep an eye on any severe weather reports which affect safety and keep every informed through social media channels :)

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Call 0151 933 1311 Mon-Fri 9-4.30pm

EMAIL : thelockandquaybootle@gmail.com or info@saferegen.org.uk

Come along and help us celebrate all that is great about our town - the people, the music, the stories...and the best bit is any profits from the event will be completely reinvested in this community!
