Seminar 6 - Protecting Your Idea (in collaboration with Start-Ed)
One of our most frequently asked questions is "how do I protect my idea?"
And this is a tricky one as there is a different answer for every kind of business. If you have a new invention, for example, you will need Intellectual Property (IP) protections, but for lifestyle businesses and Apps, there are other kinds of protection that can be put in place to keep the copycats at bay, like tradmarks and copyright.
There are also other legal processes that need considering when setting up your business, like partnership agreements, company registration, and many more. To navigate through this legal minefield, we have some legal superstars in to help!
This week will be run in collabloration with Start-Ed
So, Start-Ed is an award-winning service that started at City University London and provides free legal advice to startups and entrepreneurs both at City and across the local Tech City community.
Start-Ed team up Law students and experienced associates to offer the students legal experience, and startups free advice. So these guys are experts in startup legal questions!
This week we will have a short seminar on protecting your idea, followed by Start-Ed's usual drop in sessions. So bring your legal queries and they will be happy to help!
