Stakeholders are invited to come along and meet members of the 5G Innovation Region delivery team at Windermere on Friday 10 October 2025.
This presents an exciting opportunity to find out more about the work of the programme and see first hand how 5G technology is benefitting the operation of the Windermere Ferry.
There will be two sessions available on the day; 10:00am to 11:30pm and 12:30pm to 2:00pm.
Places are limited and we would ask those wishing to attend to book their place as soon as possible. Places are available on a first come first serve basis.
Attendees should note that this is a mixed indoor and ourdoor event. A short presentation will be followed by an on-site guided tour. Please note this guided tour will involve a short walk over paved ground alongside a minor road.
Attendees should note that the Windermere Ferry will be in use on the day so general traffic and people count is to be expected.
Upon arrival, please report to the Lake Wardens Office. The easiest way to find this is to follow the signs for the Windermere Ferry, and just before you reach the ferry (approx. 300m before) is Ferry Nab car park on the right. Attendees arriving by car are able to park here. The Lake Wardens Office can be seen from here along the shoreline. If you have any problems, please contact Emma Peile on 07557356322.
Public toilets are available for use on the Ferry Nab Car Park.
The event will be cancelled should there be extreme weather predicted by the BBC weather app 24 hours prior. Notification will be given via email
