Born in Birmingham 1914 to 1924. Maternity, midwives and infant welfare

The Friends of Birmingham Archives and Heritage (FoBAH) have received a grant of £9,900 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for a project ‘Born in Birmingham 1914-1924’. Awarded through its First World War: Then and Now programme, the project will focus on unexplored stories surrounding childbirth and infant welfare during the First World War and its immediate aftermath here in our city. This event will showcase some of the resources held within Birmingham Archives including maternity and child health records, Council and hospital records, Medical Officer of Health Reports, Registers of Midwives, photographs, maps, and newspapers.Come along to hear more about the project.
