Learn to visibly repair textiles inspired by Japanese ‘boro’ and the foundations of sashiko embroidery.
In this workshop Lorna will guide you through repairing and reinforcing damaged items using patches. You will discover which stitches work best for this relaxing and versatile method of clothing repair. Youll leave with the skills and confidence to repair your clothes at home.
Bring an item to work on, or practice on a sample piece. All other materials will be provided.
The workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some sewing experience, all levels are welcome.
This workshop also makes a wonderful gift for family and friends. Just print off the ticket and pop it in a card!

Stitch-Up CIC is a social enterprise and any profits made are reinvested straight back into delivering our creative community projects supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people in Leeds to learn new skills and improve wellbeing.
We will also be using this time to gain feedback from participants about what creative activities they would like to see going forward at Meanwood Community Centre so all feedback is greatly appreciated.
Our studio is based in Meanwood Community Centre, there is ample parking available at the Community Centre Car Park. If you cannot fit in the Car Park, please park on the main part of Stainbeck Avenue, with consideration to the residents please do not park in the cul-de-sac.
The Stitch-Up Studio is to the rear of the Community Centre. Once you arrive in reception please follow the signs for Stitch-Up.
