Boss Caine is the musical vehicle of hard living, permanently gigging, award winning, always travelling, but York based songwriter, Daniel Lucas. He is frequently joined by any number of outstanding accompanying musicians from all over the UK that make up the ever changing cast of a revolving door collective and shape shifting musical circus.
Along the way Boss Caine, in one shape or another, have supported a vast array of massively varied, well established and legendary artists including: Arlo Guthrie, The Undertones, Tony Joe White, Alabama 3, Guillemots, The Jayhawks, The Christians, Shed 7, Richard Hawley, Willy Mason, I Am Kloot, Ian McLaghan, Shooter Jennings, Brendan Benson, and countless others from across the musical spectrum on stages of all shapes and sizes. They performed a hugely successful live session on BBC Radio 2 for the legend that is 'Whispering' Bob Harris (who is already talking about getting them back for more after the new record is released this summer!), and have had countless plays from their critically acclaimed recorded back catalogue on international radio. Somehow between his constant touring, Daniel Lucas has managed to run and host a now legendary weekly York based open mic (Busk@Dusk on New Street, every Sunday night 10.30-2am), book a string of incredibly well received showcase gigs and festival stages under the banner 'Boss Caine presents the Sundown Sessions' with regular gigs in York and London, and help organize and perform at a great number of local charity events in York, which between them have raised a huge amount of money for local causes and international emergency funds over the years.
This summer sees the eagerly anticipated release of the latest Boss Caine album, which heralds yet another big step forward from the Boss Caine camp. Their festival calendar and tour diary is filling up fast for 2017 and 2018 and the future is looking exceptionally bright for this gang of gig thirsty individuals.
