About this Event

Boston Guildhall Museum is delighted to announce that from Wednesday 19th August we are able to offer booked in advance access only to the visitor attraction.

Access to the museum is through booked tickets only which are available through Eventbrite. You have the option of a free self-led tour or a paid guided tour and both are available with or without a Guildhall Souvenir Gift Set - please select your experience from one of the four ticket options available. Should you wish to purchase any additional gifts during your visit you are welcome to do so, please be aware that at this time we are able to accept cash only on site.

Only one ticket will be available per booking which will admit up to two households to visit the venue at any one time but no more than six people in total. With 45 minutes exclusive access, you are welcome to explore our American Connections exhibitions, visit our cells which served the town and are where the Pilgrims were famously held in 1607 and experience the beauty of this medieval building.

Face coverings must be worn, hand sanitiser is to be used on admittance and social distancing will be followed during your visit. Tickets will be available during our usual opening times of 10:30am – 3:30pm, Wednesday to Saturday with four tour opportunities a day.

We are pleased to share that we have received the Visit England “Good to Go” kite Mark and which demonstrates that we are able to meet the government’s guidelines on managing the reopening of the venue in response to Covid19.

Please be aware that although we are able to offer pre-booked visits to the museum, the Tourist Information Centre is yet to reopen and is not accessible in person. Please contact us via email for any Tourist Information Centre services bostontic@boston.gov.uk

Boston Guildhall is a grade I listed Medieval building with a wealth of original features, sharing both medieval and georgian architectural decor. This beautiful building is Boston's Museum but we are also available for private hire and licensed for wedding ceremonies and welcome enquiries.

Please read the information below prior to your visit to Boston Guildhall which shares the actions we are taking to support the management of the venue in response to Covid19.

Steps that we have taken:

• Risk Assessments have been carried out to recognise the best working practices for both our staff and our visitors

• Hand sanitiser is available and we ask that it is used by visitors as they arrive and exit the venue

• The NHS Track and Trace system is being supported and we will record the lead contact details for this purpose only

• Contact points have been identified to support our increased cleaning regime

• Where possible, the doors throughout the building have been opened in advance of your arrival to reduce the contact points whilst you are on site

• We have added a screen to our reception desk and staff have access to visors and face coverings, aprons and gloves

• All access to the site is pre-booked to support the management of the cleaning regime and social distancing at this time

• We have been awarded the Covid19 Kite Mark of quality assurance certificate “Good to Go” from Visit England

Ahead of your arrival:

• We ask that should you show any of the Covid19 symptoms – high temperature, persistent cough, loss of the sense of taste or smell –that you do no attend as we will be unable to permit you onto site.

• If anyone is self-isolating at home or shielding please contact us directly so that we can share further guidance with you.

• If any of our staff are showing the above symptoms they will not be on site.

What to expect when you arrive:

• You have exclusive access to the building for 45 minutes

• Access will be through the side gate which will be open from ten minutes ahead of your booking.

• On arrival please wait outside the building and we will open the doors for you as close to your booking time as possible.

• We ask that unless you are exempt from the use of face coverings, that you add your face covering prior to entering the building

• When you arrive please use the hand sanitiser as you enter

• We have a one way system in place throughout the venue – starting on the first floor and working your way back to the ground floor.

• We are fully accessible to all with a lift and a fully accessible toilet.

• If you require rest points/seating please inform us ahead of your visit.

• We ask that once you arrive that you continue to observe social distancing guidance of 2 meters where possible or 1 meter, plus mitigation.

• We have scheduled a cleaning regime between bookings.

• Please use the hand sanitiser again as you leave the venue.

• Please be mindful that your experience is limited to 45 minutes and no food or drink is to be consumed during your visit.

Please feel welcome to direct any questions for ourselves ahead of your visit through guildhall@boston.gov.uk

At this time we continue have restrictions and guidance in place to support access to this beautiful building and we will continue to review our risk assessments, procedures and observe and follow the government’s guidance. We very much appreciate your support and the opportunity to welcome you on to site as we reopen Boston Guildhall to the public.
