Boston's Lost Industrial Buildings. Illustrated talk presented by Neil Wright.

About this event

This event is part of Lincolnshire Heritage Open Days 2022 and is organised in conjunction with Boston Guildhall.

This illustrated talk by Neil Wright will show many buildings demolished in the last fifty years or earlier that were used in lots of different industries in Boston, some surprising. They include two ironworks that send steam engines and other products worldwide, feather factories and works that made cigars, crushed seeds for their oil, or packaged seeds for gardeners. Transport industry losses include railway offices where locomotives were designed in the 1840s, sheds to store locomotives, workshops where they were repaired, and creosote plants, riverside warehouses, dock warehouses, coal chutes, a fish quay and turnpike toll-houses.
