BOTANICAL SILK DYEING
Sat 5 November 2016, 10:30 – 13:30 GMT
Botanical fabric dying with Elizabeth
Nineteen invites you to join us on this workshop taught by Elizabeth from Bristol-based Botanical Inks.
Botanical Inks harness the enviromentally sustainable colour from our landscape to dye natural fibres. See website for more details www.botanicalinks.com
On this workshop learn how to transfer colour from flowers, berries, leaves and waste foods, into beautiful repeat patterns using a simple steaming method. Create your own bundle-dyed length of organic British silk to take away.
All materials are provided and more locally made Silk is available to purchase on the day. You will take home your dyed length of silk to wear as a scarf or use in a craft project.
Workshops are hosted by Nineteen in our light and airy studio at the rear of the shop. We prefer a small group, offering lots of time with the tutor and plenty of support in learning something new. We provide teas, coffee, cordial and homemade cakes served on vintage bone china by way of refreshment and happily cater to any dietary requirements.
There is free on street parking on surrounding roads, as well as on Alexandra Road itself although the bays outside of the shops carry a 2 hour restriction. We are happy to work to dietary requirements such as gluten free, please email to us before the workshop to ensure individual needs are catered to. Entrance is via the shop, where there is one small step up into the shop. Please be aware that the toilets are downstairs on the lower floor.
If you are travelling to Clevedon from further afield follow signs to the seafront (Clevedon pier) Alexandra Road is opposite the pier entrance and Nineteen is 200 metres up the road.
The address of the shop is 19, alexandra road, Clevedon BS21 7QH
