Join us for an evening of after hours entry to the Garden, live music and special access to the exhibition Linder: Danger Came Smiling, exploring 5 decades of pioneering work by the internationally renowned feminist artist Linder Sterling.


Sample some of our pop up street food offers and enjoy a drink from one of our bars, available throughout the night.

DJ Gemma Cairney

7.15 - 8.145pm

Edinburgh's very own radio 1 DJ will be performing a set list inspired by the work of Linder Sterling.

Shunpike Social Club

6.45 pm & 8pm

Brass, reeds & rhythm section on a big scale!

Shunpike Social Club have been bringing their joyous music to the streets since 2018. Their performance set includes Jamaican Ska, South African Jazz and New Orleans classics.

Linder: Danger Came Smiling

An exhibition exploring exploring five decades of pioneering work by the internationally renowned feminist artist Linder Sterling.

Also, relax to Linder's curated playlist will taking in the views of Edinburgh from Inverleith House Lawn.

Create your own art work

Take inspiration from the Garden to create your own collage and bouquet of paper flowers.

Garden Games

Take on your friends in a game of giant croquet, spin a hoola hoop or hit the mark in cornhole.

Food & Drink

Stone baked pizzas, nachos, vegan street food, hot dogs, loaded fries, Scottish beers and ciders, a selection of summer cocktails and wines

All performances, activities and exhibition access are included in the ticket price. Food and drinks are sold separately. Suitable for adults (18+) only.

For safety reasons glass is not allowed in the Garden. Due to licensing, it is not permitted to bring external alcohol into the event.

Please note that entrance to this event is only via the West Gate, Arboretum Place, EH3 5NZ.In partnership with Edinburgh Art Festival.


You must be 18 or older to attend this event and please bring proof of age.

If purchasing a members ticket please bring your membership card as you may be asked for proof on the night.

What is your refund policy?

Tickets are non refundable and non transferable. Customers will only be provided with a refund if the event has been cancelled by the Garden or a Garden closure has taken place due to circumstances out with our control.

What happens with my data?

What happens if there is heavy rain?

If there is heavy rain the event will still go ahead but activities will be moved into indoor locations around the Garden. You will need to walk between buildings across the Garden to access different activities.

Where is the event in the Garden?

The entrance to the Botanic Lates will be at the West Gate at the John Hope Gateway on Arboretum Place, EH3 5NZ. There will be no access at the East Gate. During the event, you will have access to the John Hope Gateway, Inverleith House and the North West side of the Garden.

Can I bring food and drink to the event?

No, external food and drink is not allowed to be brought into the event. For safety reasons glass is not allowed to be taken into the Garden.

Can I bring my baby/child to the event?

No, this event is for adults aged 18 years or over only.
