Webinar Details
COVID-19 has pervaded every part of our lives this year. It dominates our discussions, influences how we plan our days, affects our ability to plan ahead, determines whether we can go on holiday and impacts how we celebrate traditional events together such as birthdays, weddings, and recently Remembrance Day and Diwali - and not forgetting the uncertainty surrounding Christmas.
Society is experiencing cycles of fear and hope, but how does this upheaval impact on ABI clients and professionals?
In this second Physio Matters Spotlight Webinar, Dr Newby will consider the neuropsychological consequences of the pandemic, and in particular the COVID-19 journey and ABI.
He will explore:
• the positive effects of lockdown restrictions which stopped the ‘noise’ of life for many people with a brain injury, and enabled a new therapeutic mode to emerge in the form of remote working
• how to gauge the balance between face-to-face and virtual therapy, weighing up clients’ need versus what is safe and practical for the therapist
• the ‘dose’ effect of face-to-face therapy and why some clients need this input to maintain relationships with their therapists
• the impact of COVID-19 on team dynamics amongst ABI professionals who no longer have physical meetings, and the consequences of missing out on interaction, banter and deepening team relationships before, during and after meetings
Expert Insight and Practical Examples
This webinar will provide an expert insight in to how COVID-19 and the restrictions of lockdown have impacted on clients with brain injuries from a neuropsychology perspective.
It will focus on the implications for practitioners who work within the brain injury sector and explore the challenges they face as well as offer guidance on how to meet them.
The webinar will also be illustrated with practical examples.
