Day 3: Bothy Culture

Charting the history and culture of Scotland’s Mountain Bothies, this talk aims to convince the audience that there is indeed, ‘mair tae it than trudging up and doon daft wet hills’. Through delving into the archive of Mountain Bothy Association ‘bothy books’ from the 1970s to 2000s it will argue the more than physical merits of these structures and seek to give an insight into the culture of their use.
