About this event

This is the third workshop in our newly launched Seasonal Abundance series. Throughout this series we will be sharing skills on all things related to food growing, foraging and food processing and preserving. Although each workshop is a standalone, we expect to grow a community of people along the way who are passionate about learning new skills and applying them locally. Over time, we expect friendships to grow and ideas to take seed!

We are offering a special discount to people living within 5 miles of Hockerton, but the workshop series is of course to anyone travelling from further away as well.

This particular workshop is suitable for people with some food preserving and/or bottling experience or none at all. If you are interested in eating year round local fruit, making the most of abundant short-season home grown or foraged fruit, or making your food storage practices more resilient even when the power cuts, then this workshop is for you. If you have made jams or chutneys until they come out of your ears (sticky!) but are interested in what else you can do, then you might just love bottling. We will be harvesting some seasonal fruit and processing it together into special Kilner preserving jars. You will get to take home a jar to enjoy in your own time!

Fruity refreshments will be provided but please eat lunch before you come!

Please let us know any accessibility needs and we will do our best to accommodate you.
