This session is a comprehensve introduction to the concepts of resilience and capability. Drawing from a wide range of psychological theories and approaches, you will explore some of the emotional and cognitive skills young people can easily learn to cope with adversity. This is a highly participatory and fun session that emphasies how simple and everyday nurturing our resilience can be!
By the end of the day you will:
- have an understanding of the resilience evidence base
- understand why and how some young people beat the odds better than others
- explored resilience building principles and techniques that you can use in your own practice
- had an opportunity to reflect on your own resilience and explore tools that you can use with young people and personally
