This event is for Black LGBTQ+ people, including queer, trans, non-binary, intersex, and gender-diverse individuals. Whether you’re new to BQC or a familiar face, we’re excited to have you join our community!

Can I attend if I'm an ally and not part of the Black LGBTQ+ community?

Accepted Answer

No, Allies cannot attend the Black Queer Connect Groups as this event is ONLY for Black LBGTQ+ UK Adults (18+). However, if you would like to support our community please look out for our pay it forward tickets for future events.

Will the event be accessible?

We have a strong focus on making the event as accessible as possible, with features like flexible participation and the convenience of being online. However, we understand that accessibility needs vary for everyone. Any questions , please reach out via email, blackqueersconnect@gmail.com or Insta.

Do I need to download any special software to participate?

Accepted Answer

You will need Zoom downloaded on your device to be able to join the call. You can access the Zoom Link through Eventbrite when the event starts if you have your ticket.

What if I have a question or an issue during the event?

Please feel free to message one of our moderators during the session via chat or private messages. Alternatively please feel free to email us or fill out our Feedback form.

Can I invite friends?

Absolutely! The more, the merrier. Share the love by inviting your friends to join the Black Queer Connect Groups. However, it is essential they grab their tickets on our Eventbrite page before they can join for security purposes.

Will there be more Black Queer Connect Group events in the future?

Definitely! We are planning more Black Queer Connect Group Sessions as well as In-Person Events for our next year. Stay connected with us on Instagram and TikTok for updates on upcoming events and initiatives.

Is there a dress code for the event?

Nope! Dress however makes you feel comfortable.

What if I want to just listen and not talk?

If you prefer not to actively participate in verbal discussions during the event, that's absolutely okay! Join and enjoy at your comfort level. Engage through chat, reactions, or other non-verbal means. Your presence matters—we want you to have a positive experience!

What if I’m new to the community or feeling nervous about meeting people?

No worries at all! This event is all about having fun and connecting in a relaxed environment. Our games are designed to help you meet others without any pressure. Plus, there’ll be a friendly team ready to support you if you have any questions or need guidance.
