Event Description:Why not come along, be outside, meet new people and discover some of the history of the canals and the surrounding areas. Our walks are fun and friendly.
Bow to Islington Canal History Walk
Various dates and times. Duration 2 hours
The Walks
Start point: Blu Ivy Cafe, Block C, 24 Stoneway Walk, Globe Town, London, E3 5SH (What3Words: ///answer.gasp.formal)
End point: The end point is the tow path to Islington Tunnel. (What3Words /// client.mess.unions). When the walk "ends" you'll be taken to Coalbrooke Row Gardens and then along Duncan Street to Upper Street Islington where there are buses and the Angel Islington Tube station for dispersal.
The walks, run by Canal & River Trust, will be led by walk leaders who are also full of interesting information about the local area.
We'll meet at the Blu Ivy Cafe (Stop D Haverfield Green/Grove Rd on Bus route 8 is the closest to Blu Ivy Cafe) then go to Islington tunnel (and then up from the tow path to Angel Islington for dispersal by tube/bus). They'll be opportunities to stop along the way.
The Walk Leader is a qualified historian with a huge amount of knowledge and experience.
The great thing about walking is that you do not need any fancy equipment. Please just wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket if raining.

Please book one time slot per person. Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before your booked slot. These sessions are designed for adults and for children from seven years old upwards as an introduction to walking and are easy grade along our amazing towpaths. Learn a bit of history or see some awesome wildlife which is around every turn on our waterways .
Parents and Guardians are required to accompany their children on this walk.
Walk ins will not be accepted. If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket via Eventbrite or please get in touch with us to allow another person(s) a chance to take part. Social distancing measures will be in place and all equipment will be cleaned in between sessions.
