Bowls Scotland will be hosting its third National Development Conference on Sunday 26th February 2017 at the GTG conference centre in Glasgow.
This year’s theme will be Club Development and we are delighted to have secured a fantastic line up of speakers for the day. Topics covered within the workshops include:
Hints and tips on how to develop clubs in their local communities
Relevant and up to date information on club governance and structure
Examples of good practice from Clubs and Bowls Scotland development officers
Keynote Address: Club Committees: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly? (Kevin Fish)
Workshop 1- Step by Step- To Great Club Governance: Kevin Fish (Scottish Golf) - this will be a continuation from the Keynote Address providing a practical session and further insight.
Workshop 2- More Than A Bowls Club: Svend Elkjaer (Sports Marketing Network)
Workshop 3- Been there, done that: The 3 R’s of Club Support: Bowls Scotland Regional Development Officers & Guest
Registration will commence at 10:00am and the day will close at 4.30pm

NB: Places within the workshops will be strictly limited; therefore you must ensure you select the workshops you would like to attend at the time of booking. We anticipate some of the workshops will be extremely popular and can only guarantee a place where there are spaces available at the time of booking.
Ticket prices are as follows:
**Early-bird extended until 11.30pm on 18th of February
Members - £10
Non-members - £15
**Bookings made after the 18th of February:
All tickets £25

Please note that although sales end on the 18th of February we anticipate that this event will sell out in advance of that date, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

What's the refund policy?
No refund will be issued for any cancellation after January 26th or in the event of non-attendance of any candidate.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Free on-site parking is available at GTG Glasgow. Additional parking is available in surrounding streets.
The nearest train station is Scotsounhill which is a 10 minute walk away from GTG. (Trains run from Glasgow Central to Scotstounhill)
From Hope Street you can get the following buses: No. 9, No.42 , No. 62 First Glasgow Service to Dumbarton Road and GTG is a 6 minute walk from there.
Leave M8 at Junction 25 (Clyde Tunnel) and merge with the A739. Continue on A739, entering Clyde Tunnel and staying in left lane. On exiting Clyde Tunnel, take immediate left slip road signposted Whiteinch, Turn left onto Dumbarton Road and then take second left on to Squire Street. Continue to the end of Squire Street, take a right onto South Street and continue for 1 mile. GTG is on the right hand side.
Leave M8 at Junction 19 and take Exit A814 (Clydebank/SECC) At traffic lights, take first right onto Stobcross Street/ A814. Continue on this road for approx. 2 miles and then take exit for Whiteinch/Broomhill. At roundabout take first exit on to Sawmill Road and then take a right onto South Street. Continue on South Street for approx 1.5 miles and GTG will be on the right hand side.
