Event description

Description

Join a high-tempo workshop focussing on male ballet technique and choreography, led by former Royal Ballet Soloist Josh Tuifua.

The 3-hour classes are designed to develop core strength, musicality, presentation and performance skills and will cover four key stages, all with live pianist accompaniment.

  1. Warm-up and core strengthening exercises - using fun ideas and props to work on key areas of the body to help improve alignment, balance and control.

  2. Classical ballet technique - working at the barre and in the centre on male technique.

  3. Virtuosity, Performance Skills and Presentation - taking a closer look at leaps, jumps and turns.

  4. Choreographic workshop - providing inspiration to allow the boys to work together in small groups or pairs, choreographing their own sequences with the opportunity to perform to each other.

Times:
10.00am - 1.00pm
Ages 7 & over (Beginners to RAD Grade 3 or equivalent)

1.45 – 4.45pm
Ages 10 & over (RAD Grade 4 or equivalent and above)
