Our inspirational speakers:

Abda Khan, British Muslim Woman of the Year Award at the British Muslim Awards 2019

Abda Khan has practiced as a lawyer for the past 27 years, and is now also a published author of two novels; Stained (2016), and most recently Razia (2019). She is also a Lloyds Bank Women of the Future Ambassador. Abda was Highly Commended in the Nat West Asian Women of Achievement Awards in 2017 and won the Noor Inayat Khan British Muslim Woman of the Year Award at the British Muslim Awards 2019.


Amjad Pervez, Co-founder of Seafresh & Adams

Amjad is a seasoned successful leader with a track record of managing and implementing innovative business solutions ensuring growth profitability and thus delivering strategic objectives both in the private sector and public policy sphere.

With over 30 years of experience he is extremely well networked in his own business sectors as well as leading on other important local regional and international institutions both in the private and public sector. Amjad has lived in Bradford since 1970 he was schooled in Bradford and graduated from Huddersfield in 1983 where he studied Business and Marketing.

He is passionate about empowering others through education and enterprise.

Most recently he has been honoured to accept the role of Cultural advisor to Bradford UNESCO city of film for Pakistan.

Dr Mohammed Ali OBE, Founder & Chief Executive, QED Foundation

Mohammed Ali has worked in ethnic minority community development for over 35 years in UK and Europe. He is a social entrepreneur pioneering and developing new ways of addressing the social and economic challenges and ethnic minority community participation. He worked in newly created roles with Glaxo Pharmaceuticals, Bradford Community Relations Council, Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, Sheffield City Council and Fullemply, a London base ethnic minority social and economic development agency, before setting up QED Foundation in 1990. QED is a leading national charity which has directly supported 35,000 people and indirectly many more, by training and advising senior managers of public, private and the third sectors in recruiting, retaining and developing an ethnically diverse workforce.

In three decades, he has served on numerous public, private and voluntary sector boards and committees which included the NHS, Home Office, DWP, IOD, EU, ACEVO, Bradford University and York St John University. He is chairman of Poverty Alleviation Scholarships Foundation and the Network of Pakistani Voluntary Organisations (UK)

He has won many accolades for his work including an honorary doctorate by the University of Bradford in 1997 and the OBE in 2001.
