Bradford Educate Against Hate - Believe in Better

BRADFORD EDUCATE AGAINST HATE - BELIEVE IN BETTER
Approaches to equality, hate crime, cohesion, diversity issues are often complex and confusing.
The purpose of the event is to offer clarity and instil confidence to our education leads and to
illustrate local and national good practice.
We face unique and pressing challenges to ensure the continued stability of relations between our many
communities. Much prejudice is based on misconceptions and insufficient interface and dialogue between
people with different backgrounds and outlooks. In our District we need to work hard together to generate the conditions where difference is accepted and the learning that can come from understanding difference is positively valued. Our diversity offers us the opportunity to understand the real perspectives of others and, therefore, gain a better grasp of our own collective identity. This knowledge will enable us to
capitalise on our potential and generate the forward thinking, peaceful, tolerant and prosperous District we all strive for.
