BRAIN CROCHET

An event hosted by talented textile artist Barbara Touati-Evans, one of the artists who exhibited as part of last year's Midsummer Madness performance pop-up at Leyden Gallery for the Desperate Artwives contribution to the East End Art Trail.

The Brain Crochet workshop offers an introduction to FREESTYLE CROCHET. Using examples from her current project Mindshapes about the brain and neuroscience, artist Barbara Touati-Evans will introduce you to simple freestyle crochet techniques and how to use them in creative and personal ways. Start on your very own brain badge. All materials included. All levels welcome

WORKSHOP OUTLINE

Intro to artist practice, neuroscience and freestyle crochet with photos and examples (15mns)/ student intro (10mns)/ demonstrating stitches (5mn)/ students practise chain and double crochet stitches (30mns)/ students practise treble stitches (30mns)/ make brain badge.

WHAT ATTENDEES SHOULD BRING:
All experiences welcome. We will supply basic materials, but if you have them please bring yarns & crochet hooks.
