The Brain Friendly Learning Group (BFLG) is a professional development group with a curiosity about thebrain, people, creativity and learning. The BFLG group has over 1,000 members internationally, consisting of L&D people working within organisations and independently and it's now coming to the North West!
Following the 70:20:10 rule, the meeting is 70% focussed on personal development, 20% on networking and 10% on lunch!
Our first meeting will consist of an introduction to Neuroscience for Learning run by Stella Collins, author of 'Neuroscience for Learning and Development'. Neuroscience is all the rage at the moment and Stella will be able to explain how you can apply that in your role in a brain-friendly way! This may challenge some of your current thinking, and help you to find scientific support for what you already do well as well as generate new practical ideas for working and learning more effectively.
You don’t actually need to be a neuroscientist to be great in your learning role but walk away with some influential and practical ideas you can use from neuroscience.
The structured session will be followed by the opportunity to explore your own challenges and ideas with other L&D professionals. Working with people outside of your own organisation can unleash creativity and may help you to solve problems you've been grappling with for a while. All this plus opportunities for free (and facilitated if required) networking so remember to bring your business cards!
