About this event

This workshop is particularly aimed at people working in adult services.

Common to many clients across homelessness, substance use, probation and temporary accommodation services, is a significant difficulty understanding and regulating overwhelming emotions. This often leads to destructive behaviours that renders them more vulnerable and at risk of further exclusion and marginalisation. We will briefly look at how trauma and neglect early in life contributes to a difficulty regulating emotions in adulthood. We will introduce a model that helps people understand and regulate their emotions and develop a stronger sense of control in their lives and self determination.

We are looking forward to an interactive workshop were we can discuss, explore and practice skilful ways of helping clients move forward.

COVID considerations: In order to maintain a safe distance between participants we are limiting numbers to 25 on a 'first come first served' basis. Exeter Community Centre is doing their best to maintain a Covid Safe environment and asks that participants wear face masks in the public areas, however, the use of face masks in the conference room is optional.
