Description
The Brain Health Programme is a nutrition and lifestyle coaching programme, designed to optimise brain health and cognitive function – supporting mood, memory and focus.
The programme comprises six evidenced based workshops for supporting brain health:-
Workshops 1 and 2 - 22nd Oct and 5th Nov- Mind What You Eat: Just like any other organ, the brain requires certain nutrients to function properly. We explore the very best foods to eat, as well as ways of eating, to optimise your brain and help prevent cognitive decline. NB: No workshop 29th Oct
Workshop 3- 12th November- Optimising Gut Health: Science has revealed that what goes on in our gut (digestive tract) influences our mood and mental function. We explore this 'gut-brain axis' and I provide practical advice on how you can support your gut.
Workshop 4- 19th Nov- Stress Management: Ongoing high levels of our stress hormone (cortisol) may kill brain cells. We explore how this works and practical advice for reducing stress naturally.
Workshop 5- 26th Nov- Improving Sleep: Sleep is vital for optimal brain health. However problems such as getting to sleep or staying asleep are common. We look at ways to optimise sleep.
Workshop 6- 2nd Dec Physical Activity and Brain Training : Exercise increases blood flow to the brain and helps to produce brand new cells within the part of the brain responsible for memory and emotions. The Programme reveals how exercise can lift mood and help with stress management.
There's an old adage - 'use it or lose it'. The adult brain continuously adapts to relevant sensory stimulation. The Programme explores how exercising the brain allows new connections to be created and maintained.
