Anava Baruch and Andrew Pryer - Design for Independence

Anava is the director and clinical lead of Design for Independence Ltd.

Anava leads the team of housing occupational therapists’ who specialise in designing homes for people who have suffered catastrophic injuries and live with physical, cognitive an visual impairments.

Anava set up business in 2012 after working for years as an community occupational therapist. Anava acts as an accomodation witness expert (under Part 34 of the Civil Procedure Rules.) Anava is the only Accomodation Expert with an Occupational Therapy background.

Andrew Pryer joined Design for Independence at the begining of 2024 as their Business Development Manager. He brings a wealth of management, customer service and sales experience from his previous career in investment banking, where he worked for a number of Tier 1 institutions.

On the day, Anava and Andrew will present: Delivering client autonomy and better outcomes within the accomodation journey.

Rhianna Holland and Mike Williams - RBC Brewin Dolphin

RBC Brewin Dolphin is one of the UK and Ireland’s leading wealth managers and traces

its origins back to 1762. Mike joined RBC Brewin Dolphin in 2019 and is a Financial Planner in our Shrewsbury office. He heads up the Financial Planning team and provides advice to a wide range of clients including private individuals, owner-managed businesses, trustees and deputies. He specialises in tax-efficient investing, retirement and inheritance tax planning. He is a big advocate of lifetime cashflow planning and protecting families and businesses against the unexpected. Rhianna joined RBC Brewin Dolphin in 2010, helping to set up and grow the Shrewsbury office. Rhianna works as an Investment Manager, managing investment portfolios for both private clients and clients of intermediaries such as external independent financial advisers, solicitors and accountants. The clients include individuals, couples, families, business owners, deputies and trustees. Alongside this she looks after a team of Investment Managers and Investment Management Assistants.

On the day, Mike and Rhianna will be presenting: ‘Turning Compensation into a Brighter Future’ - a step by step case study demonstrating the importance of working with professional Deputies and Wealth Managers when managing a financial settlement, considering aspects such as tax-efficiency, investment risk and the long-term sustainability of the funds.
