Brainfood: The Turkey Series
Tue 9 May 2017, 19:00 – 21:30 BST
Welcome to Brainfood – a supper club where you can feed the body and work the mind!
The evening will take place at the Modern Pantry in Finsbury Square, top chef Anna Hansen's (MBE) second London restaurant. Anna has worked with some of the best chefs out there including Fergus Henderson and Peter Gordon. The Modern Pantry is famous for its original and ambitious flavour combinations, with eclectic, bold flavours and unusual ingredients from global cuisines, notably Turkey and the Middle East.
All profits will be donated to the fantastic mental health charity, MQ.
We are lucky to have Jonathan Friedman, who will be giving a captivating talk titled: Can Islam Be Reconciled with Democracy? The rise and fall of the “Turkish model” and what it means for the future of world affairs.
Jonathan Friedman is a recognised authority on the Middle East, advising investors, government policymakers and non-profits on developments in the region. He is a sought-after speaker and regularly comments in international print and broadcast media, including for the BBC, CNN, CNBC, Reuters, Bloomberg, the Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal. He has lived in Turkey and speaks Turkish, and has travelled throughout the region, including to Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Israel, and Azerbaijan.
The talk will be accompanies by a three course set menu. Please do let us know if you have any dietary needs, allergies or intolerances at the time of booking. The ticket price doesn’t include alcohol but you will be able to buy drinks at the restaurant on the evening.
