Event description

Description

Does this sound like you?

  • You wake up in the morning so stiff and in so much pain that you struggle to get out of bed.
  • You’ve been in pain for more than three months and it doesn’t seem to getting better.
  • You’ve had to give up doing many of the things you love.
  • You don’t feel safe being physically active.
  • You worry about the future and whether you will ever be able to go back to work.
  • You want to get back to living a full life, spending time with the people you love - your friends and family, children and grandchildren

If you have been in pain for more than three months and it isn’t improving then you are suffering from persistent pain. You may have tried all sorts of drugs and therapies and nothing gives you lasting relief. If this is your experience you need a strategy which will enable you to get the pain under control and to start moving forwards again.

After three months, pain is more a product of what is happening in your brain than what is going on in the tissues. So it is only by working with the brain that we can reduce pain levels.

BrainWorks persistent pain workshops help you understand how pain works - this is something which has been found to help reduce pain levels. The workshops also introduce you to strategies for dealing with pain, so that you can turn down the volume and get back in control. When you have goals to focus on, your brain turns its attention away from the pain and this turns down the volume.

If you want to put the pain behind you and start moving forwards to a life that you love, then this workshop will get you started on that road.

"I have attended this workshop before and have picked up some useful tips to try and control my pain. Sorrel is a very experienced osteopath and deals with patients with all varying kinds of pain and therefore understands a lot about the origins of pain and how to control it." Jen Desmond

"I also attended the workshop and found it very helpful. Within a few days I was able to go down stairs without pain and have much more control over pain levels when walking. I really recommend it." Amandy Goody
