An opportunity to share why Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust recently won the People Management of the Year Award.

Our first Branch event of the year showcases the initiatives undertaken at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust when it was asked to take control of two hospitals (Wexham Park and Heatherwood) placed under special measures by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). With issues such as poor employee engagement, lack of accountability, bullying and wellbeing being identified by the CQC as key factors, the HR Unit at Frimley Park would play an important and leading part in any turnaround success. The acquisition almost doubled the workforce to 8500 people.

The event will be led by Janet King, Director of HR & Corporate Services, and enable you to share some of the approaches used and the initiatives undertaken in a constrained unionised environment and with the varied workforce of professionals and other staff found in a hospital. As well as engagement and cultural issues around behaviours and values, the team tackled issues such as stemming turnover and recruiting professional and other staff whilst carrying the special measures tag.

Whatever your role in HR, there is something for you in this event and we are grateful to FHFT for hosting it at Frimley Park Hospital.
