Brand and IP Protection in the Digital Age
The expanding role of the internet and social media has fundamentally changed the face of commerce creating both opportunities and challenges for businesses and brands. New and emerging digital channels are enabling businesses to increasingly engage and interact with their customers on multiple levels, whilst at the same time providing new and unprecedented opportunities for third parties to take advantage of, and infringe a businesses' valuable intellectual property rights with relative ease. It has become increasingly important for a business to be aware of the issues and risks facing its IP and brands in the global digital arena and to ensure that it is adequately prepared to respond to growing online threats. Asima will be providing an overview of the most commonly faced threats to IP and brands in today's challenging online environment, looking at strategies to mitigate risk as well as enforcement options available in the face of an online challenge.

Joanne Frew and Charlotte Lloyd-Jones
Gender Pay - Key changes in the world of pay
We will provide an update on the latest changes impacting on your workforces' pay. With many businesses spending the last 12 months dealing with gender pay gap reporting and the potential for equal pay claims to follow where a pay discrepancy is identified, pay is certainly at the top of the agenda. The holiday pay litigation is continuing with the Sash Windows case opening the door to historic claims and there are two shared parental leave pay cases considering the lawfulness of paying enhanced maternity pay and not offering the same enhancement when paying shared parental pay. Finally we will take a brief look at the National Living Wage two years on and the impact on businesses.
