Philip is the Head of Rideback Brand Studios (RBS) the branded entertainment division of Dan Lin’s Rideback, the company behind films such as, “The Lego Movie”, “Aladdin”, Sherlock Holmes and IT/IT2 and The Two Popes. He works with major brands and connects them with A-List, award winning talent to create powerful, engaging, original content for audiences across all platforms. RBS has created content for clients such as Diageo and the Nobel Peace Prize. Prior to Rideback, Philip was the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Contend a data driven branded content agency that created content for clients such as Microsoft, Bud Light, Lexus, Pizza Hut,Facebook, and others. He held this role from 2014-2018 until it was acquired by Carlyle owned Mosaic. Prior to Contend he was EVP and Head of Production at Los Angeles advertising agency Omelet and before that was an advisor to global agency JWT in relation to branded content and entertainment. Alberstat is well known for his role at the William Morris Agency within their independent film team. He worked on such noted films as Thank you for Smoking, Away from Her, Factory Girl and Bobby. He has produced numerous films and television series and won an Emmy Awards for his work on the film, “The Incredible Mrs. Ritchie”. He was also shortlisted for an Oscar for the documentary “Downstream”. Prior to William Morris he was an entertainment lawyer based in London England specializing in media and media finance. He is the author of several books including,” The Insider’s Guide to Film Finance”, “Law and the Media” and “The Content Maker’s Handbook”.
