BRAZILIAN JAZZ NIGHTS presents: Alê Prade - Brazilian Guitar Treasures

THE LIBRARY is a private members‘ club, which attracts a large swathe of London‘s finest minds and most familiar faces with a luxurious suite of amenities, fantastic food and beverage offerings, and intrinsic coolness above all.


BRAZILIAN GUITAR TREASURES In this solo performance the musician and composer Alê Prade presents a repertoire dedicated to the Brazilian Guitar School. From Villa-Lobos to Baden Powell, he goes through a rich collection of pieces from the great names of Brazilian instrumental music including his own compositions.


Alê Prade

is a Brazilian musician, painter and poet based in London since 2015. He was born in 1968 and from an early age showed a profound interest in the creative act and all its multiple manifestations. In 1977 he started his music studies as a flute player at FAP- Arte in São Paulo under the guidance of the famous H.J.Koellreutter and Laura Abrãao, with whom he was able to also study music perception, formal analises, functional and traditional harmony. Ale Prade studied counterpoint with Vera Cury, classical guitar with Henrique Pinto and Giacomo Bartolloni and piano and music history with Maria de Lourdes Zicari BelPiede.

After that, concomitant to the composing and conducting course in college, in 1988 he became part
of the selected group of students of the great conductor, composer and musicologist H.J.Koellreutter, from
whom he learned composition, orchestration, aesthetics, counterpoint history, classical and modern
phenomenological analises of music. Ale started his researches in music technology, sound synthesis,
computer assisted compositions, MIDI and sound engineering. Since 1988 he does music productions,
recordings, mixing, sound-design, compositions, as well as music courses.

In his collection of compositions you will find from solo or ensemble instrumental music to
electroacoustic solo or mixed. featured:
Contemporary Music– Instrumental, Vocal, Planimetric, Live Electronics, Solo and Mixed Electroacoustic.
Guitar Solo – Performance of his compositions.
Piano Solo - Performance of his compositions.
Casa das Labaredas – Songs autoral project.
Ek-Stasis Project – Multi-format ensembles including Planimetrics, Live Electronics, Electroacustics and
Free Improvisation.

Vortex Project – Group focused on experimenting sounds of Electric Piano.Kromos Project - Group focused on experimenting sounds of Electric Guitar.

Spiral Koinon – Electronic Music project.

Caligrafias - Songs composition, performance and poetry.

Co-produced and performed the music for the show and CD of Romance Vol. II, with the well
known actress Marisa Orth. Participated as a keyboard player and a sound designer for Candombless Project
from Carlinhos Brown.

In all those performances Alê shared the stage with many different guests such as Caetano Veloso,
Miuxa, Daniel Jobim, Ronaldo Bastos, Mariane de Castro, Paulo Ricardo, Fabiana Cozza, André Abujamra,
Carlos da Fé, Odair José , Eduardo Dusek, Marcelo Jeneci, Edgar Scandurra,
As Chicas, Natália Barros, Da Lua e Tony Platão.
Alongside of DJs and musicians Carlo Dall ́Anese e Fábio Castro, integrated Sweetmad Band. Prade
also was a Music Director of Daniela Procópio, with whom he performed as a pianist, guitar player and
vocalist under the Art Direction of Eumir Deodato. Created and produced the sound track of the theatre play
“O Mistério de Irma Vap” directed by brazilian theatre icon Marília Pêra and soundtracks for animated
movies “Alçapão para Gigantes” and “O herói salva a cidade dentro do sapato” from the argentinian
filmmaker Yannet Briggiler.

In the arts, began in 1982 the production of his own black ink drawings ,water color, engraving and
few years later works as an illustrator. In recent years his work includes extensive production of painting,
digital art and intermedia having performed in Solo and Group Exhibitions and receiving awards in various

salons and fairs worldwide and becames a warded member of Société Académique “ARTS-SCIENCES-
LETTRES” de Paris.

As a poet, developed research and creation of intermedia, digital, visual and sound poetry, besides
the traditional format. The artist debut in Poetry Anthologies and had his frst book in 1993, Pólen de Timbres
(Timbre
Pollen), edited by Letras Contemporaneas followed by Ópera Estelar (Starry Opera) Praia Suspensa
(Buoyant Beach), Lagoas Cegas (Blind Ponds), Mil línguas de Madresilva (Thousand Tongues of
Madresilva).
The most recent project is an Maximalist Intermidia one called Freedoom Generation involving Poetry,
Installation and Performing arts.
