Brazilian Translation Club
Event Information
Description
Join us at UCL for our 5th edition of the Brazilian Translation Club.
A partnership between Capitolina Books and the Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies at UCL, this initiative aims to translate short stories of some of Brazil's contemporary voices in fiction. In the end of the project we aim to publish a bilingual anthology with all the collaborations made throughout the process.
On the 25th June, we will discuss the translation of a short story by Itamar Vieira Junior, winner of the prestigious Leya Awards.
This series of events are completely free of charge. We welcome anyone who is interested in Brazilian literature or translation. You do not need to translate , but we encourage participants to debate to enrich the discussion.
Come and join us for a glass of wine and some literature discussion.
Registration is compulsory via Eventbrite.
