The Payment Services Directive (PSD2): What Charities Need to Know
In Partnership with:
As online payments and transactions grow year on year, the need for those payments to be safe and secure increases. When you make an online payment you typically choose a password or similar ‘unique identifier’ to confirm the transaction and prove that you are you.
This process, ‘Customer Authentication’, will see significant new legislation this year. The revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2) is now in force (as of 13 January 2018), with new requirements on Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) to become effective from 14 September 2019.
Charities and the Third Sector should be prepared, as far as possible, to ensure future fundraising strategies are aligned and understand the implications this will have on donations.
UK Finance, in partnership with the Institute of Fundraising and Open Mobile Global, are reaching out across all sectors to raise awareness of what’s coming and help organisations prepare. Kindly hosted by Osborne Clarke, this breakfast briefing will aim to bring charities together to discuss potential implications, inform about 'exception' opportunities and think more widely about the future for digital fundraising.
Due to limited space, we would kindly ask that any given organisation brings no more than two delegates.
