The training workshop will provide you with basic theory and practical techniques to use in a variety of groupwork situations. Sessions will be participative and will include the development of personal facilitation skills, good working practice and workshop organisation.
The training is structured over two whole days which allows you a chance to reflect on your own current practice, allowing you to be focused and away from day to day responsibilities; using a range of creative action methods it will be responsive to the particular interests of the participants.

You will learn:
How to conduct active exercises which can help to build group cohesion and raise discussion around key issues of being at risk.
How to facilitate the creation of image work and role-plays which can be used to examine thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
How to use exercises and scene work to facilitate skills training related to themes such as: oppression, victim awareness, conflict resolution and problem solving.
Building rapport including basic questioning techniques, encouraging participation and working with resistance.
How scenes, performances and shows can be planed devised and performed with a range of different community groups
How using arts within the community we can consider issues such as group dynamics, safety, constructing games and exercises and group management.
