Breaking Barriers: LGBTQ+ Perspectives on Adoption

Join us on June 20th from 7:00pm to 8:30pm for a brave and inclusive webinar exploring the unique experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals in the adoption process.

This session aims to debunk misconceptions about LGBTQ+ adoption, explore the intricacies of LGBTQ+ identities in the adoption process.

Featuring a ten-minute introduction followed by an engaging panel discussion with Matt Taylor-Robert (Founder and Managing Director of Proud 2 b Parents), Dr Lucy Kelsall-Knight (Children’s nurse), Emma Miller-McCaffrey (Head of Relationships at Diversity Role Models), Satwinder Sandhu (CEO of Consortium of Voluntary Adoption Agencies UK) and chaired by Mark Hoult-Allen (Chair of Trustees, We Are Family), and interactive Q&A session, this webinar offers a unique opportunity for learning and growth, providing valuable insights for prospective adopters and anyone interested in understanding LGBTQ+ adoption.

About We Are Family Adoption
We Are Family is a peer support community by adopters for adopters. We're there for families throughout their adoption journey. Originally founded in 2013 by adopters who experienced first-hand the lack of post-adoption support available for their families and wanted to provide locally-based peer-to-peer support for adoptive parents. From one group in Hackney & Islington, the organisation grew to seven over two years. Online and in person, our parents' groups, events, resources, podcasts and talks offer mutual support, information and inspiration to adopters and those considering adoption.
