About this event
Join Isabel and Sana from our Visitor Experience and Engagement Team for a practical workshop exploring the role of bread in building and maintaining communities.
We’ll start with some historical context on bread and breadmaking, followed by a guided meditation on bread and a story about bread in South Asian culture. You’re wellcome to join the conversation and share your own thoughts and experiences.
You’ll then have a chance to make sculptures from bread dough, drawing on the themes discussed. We'll have images and recipes from our historical collections on display to inspire you – and you can take your sculptures home at the end of the workshop.
All materials will be provided. Please note that this workshop is not suitable for anyone with a gluten or nut allergy.
This is a relaxed event, so you're free to move around. There will be a Chill-Out Room with low lighting and comfortable seating.
Need to know
We’ll be in the Studio on level 1. When you enter Wellcome Collection, head up the stairs or take the lift, then follow the signs.
