MiCLUare the Migrant and Refugee Children’s Legal Unit, a specialist legal and policy hub based at Islington Law Centre in London.MiCLU represent and advocate for young people who have been displaced by war, fleeing abuse, and trafficked into the UK for exploitation, and young people separated from their families who are effectively “invisible” in terms of civil and legal status because of immigration laws.MiCLU have been working closely withShpresa Programme, a community based, user-led organisation that promotes the participation and contribution of the Albanian-speaking community in the UK through providing advice, support, education and training.

Come join us for a celebration and launch, and listen to the voices of young asylum seekers. We will be talking about the learning from our Breaking the Chains project with young asylum seekers, including hearing from the young people themselves who will talk about their experiences in the UK. We will also be releasing materials created by these young Immigration Champions to support and reach out to professionals and other young asylum seekers in their asylum journey2-4pm Presentation of findings and launch of materials 4-5pm Albanian dancing5-6pm Picnic/shared meal<a href="https://miclu.org/breaking-the-chains" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Breaking the Chains</a> is a partnership project dedicated to improving outcomes for children and young people seeking asylum in the UK.The project works with some of the most marginalised children and young people in the asylum system, providing them with high quality casework while listening to and amplifying their voices to share our learning about how best to protect this vulnerable group. The project also offers a chance to think strategically about the issues faced by these children and young people, and to harness their energy and talent to provide peer support within and across communities.Further information about venue and programme will be provided closer to the date.
