Breakthrough Capitalism Forum

'The Future's Already Here'

Tuesday, 29 May 2012, 0830-1730 at Kings Place Conference Centre, London

Capitalism is in crisis: an older order is dying, a new one struggling to be born.
Change-as-usual strategies are failing to address the nature and scale of the challenges we face.

We need to do things differently, and if you want to help make that happen please join us at the Breakthrough Capitalism Forum.  To determine what needs to be done, we will explore four themes:

  • Capitalism Unplugged - outlining the growing sense that our challenges relate to systemic failures
  • Breakthrough Innovation - how investors, entrepreneurs, policy-makers and others are driving change
  • System Dynamics - where barriers to breakthrough exist and how they can be removed
  • Scaling Solutions - developing the solutions and incentives to catalyse system-level change

The event will be hosted by John Elkington, Volans, and speakers will include:

  • Justin Adams (formerly BP Alternative Energy)
  • David Blood (Generation Investment Management)
  • Marshall Clemens (Idiagram)
  • Paul Ellingstad (HP)
  • Michele Giddens (Bridges Ventures)
  • Pamela Hartigan (Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship)
  • Tim Helwag-Larsen (Energy Bank)
  • Isabel Hilton (chinadialogue)
  • Patrick Holden (formerly of the Soil Association)
  • Bronwyn Kundhardt (Polecat)
  • Jeremy Leggett (SolarCentury)
  • Anthony Ling (Goldman Sachs/GS Sustain)
  • Jennifer Morgan (Finance Lab)
  • David Orrell (author, Economyths)
  • Casper ter Kuile (UK Youth Climate Coalition)
  • David Stubbs (London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games)
  • Al Tickell (Julie’s Bicycle)
  • Terri Wills (Clinton Climate Initiative)
  • Ian Yolles (Recyclebank)
  • Dimitri Zenghelis (LSE/Cisco) and many more.
