Event description
Are you Pregnant? Then come and join us for our informal Breastfeeding Information Session, from the comfort of your own home.

About this Event

How you choose to feed your baby is a really important decision, but it’s one that doesn’t have to be fully made until your baby is actually born, so you’ve lots of time to get all the information you need and feel positive and confident about breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is the preferred infant feeding choice according to the World Health Organisation, but many parents worry that they won’t know what to do or will face problems. Our Breastfeeding session will provide you with the key points you’ll need in order to effectively breastfeed your baby, avoid problems and know where to seek support once your baby is here.

The session includes:

• Benefits of breastfeeding.

• Importance of skin to skin contact.

• Pain free positioning and attachment.

• Feeding positions.

• Hand expressing.

• What to expect in the first week of breastfeeding.

• Hormones involved in milk production.

• Responsive feeding.

• Value of support.

• Breastfeeding problems and solutions.

The session is delivered online by an experienced Antenatal Peer Supporter. The session is fully interactive and you will be able to ask questions and have an opportunity to chat to other expectant parents.

To ensure accessibility for all we only request a minimum donation of £1 to attend our sessions, but we do ask, if you are able to consider making our suggested donation of £5. You can also purchase our ‘add on’ items when booking this session. Please note you must also book a place on the course in addition to the purchase of an ‘add on’ item. Your donation and purchase helps our small charity to continue to provide our essential support to families through pregnancy, early years and beyond.

Breastfeeding Together have been providing education and support during pregnancy to families for the past 10 years and have a proven track record of success. We are an award-winning Charity, being honoured with ‘The Queens Award for Voluntary Service’ in 2020. The MBE for volunteer groups. For more information about the work we do visit
