An extended New Year practice of movement, breathwork and rest.

Breathe fresh life into this new year.

Join Sāmya Studios founder Laura B. Childs on Saturday 3rd January for an extended yoga and breathwork practice—no fancy stuff, just you moving and breathing in community.

We'll start with a gentle movement practice designed to clear the slate and make room for the new. Laura's classes are creative and invitational and designed to build personal strength and confidence. With a buffet of variations, you always get to make your practice your own, meet yourself where you are, and have some fun in the process.

After moving, we’ll dive into an extended breathwork practice. Breathwork is a reset button for your energy, helping to shift stagnant energy out of the body and unlock what’s next. This longer session allows for a deeper exploration, giving you the time and space to tap into your energy, release emotional blocks, and reconnect with yourself in a powerful way.

From there, we’ll spend some time defining an intention for the new year—a 2026 sankalpa or wish for yourself that will guide you closer to your true purpose and authenticity.

After moving, breathing, and doing all the things, we’ll end in full and complete rest. Laura will guide you through yoga nidra, known as sleep yoga. It’s a restful form of pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses), where we move into the liminal space between awake and asleep to relax, recover, and integrate. This is your time to receive all the effort and energy you created so you can step into the new year with openness, connection, and clarity.

Please bring a journal and pen with you and wear comfortable clothes.

Breathwork Safety:
Active breathwork can be practiced by all healthy individuals. If you are dealing with a serious medical condition, we advise you to speak to a healthcare professional before your first session.

We do not recommend active breathwork if you are pregnant or suffer from any of the following:
- Severe asthma or epilepsy
- High blood pressure (in case of prescription medication)
- Heart problem
- A history of serious health issues like heart failure or stroke

If you have any of the above conditions, you're welcome to join the event and practice a different kind of breathwork.

We offer classes and treatments to help you come back to yourself and your own inherent wisdom.
