Breathe Magic Taster
Thu 23 March 2017, 17:30 – 19:30 GMT
Breathe arts health research is an organization which turns fresh ideas and creativity into practical change through collaborating the sectors of arts, health and science. Breathe emerged from Guys and St Thomas’ NHS trust in 2008. We are delighted to be one of the first companies with its roots in arts-in-health to be recognised as NHS England for our work and in 2016 we were awarded NHS Rehabilitation Innovation award for our Breathe Magic work and our related research. Breathe Magic is currently a commissioned clinical service by Lambeth CCG and Wand worth CCG.
Breathe Magic is a 10-day intensive therapy programme for young people with hemiplegia. The therapy is delivered in the form of a camp which integrates a magical theme into a Hand-Arm Bimanual Intensive Therapy (HABIT) model and bimanual task specific intensive training as recommended by NICE (2014). Due to an increased expression of interest directly from families in your area we are running a camp in the west midlands in August 2017.
As part of our work we wish to provide you with further information on our model, research, referral criteria and pathway. We are keen to identify collaboration and training opportunities with the local services in your area.
We are holding an information event for professionals in your area:
