Welcome to our online Stop Smoking Level 1 training event!

The Very Brief Advice (VBA) training is designed to equip healthcare professionals, community engagement officers, and other front-line staff with the

knowledge and confidence to support individuals in stopping smoking, even within the time constraints of routine consultations or interactions.

Evidence indicates that advice from healthcare and other trusted professionals and community leaders can be a powerful motivator for individuals to try to stop smoking. This 45-minute training session provides a structured and effective approach to delivering brief stop smoking advice, without compromising rapport or service delivery.

The ‘3 A’s’ approach (Ask, Advise, Act) is a proven model for brief interventions

•Referral pathways into the Breathe Stop Smoking Service

•Eligibility criteria for accessing the service
