Frequently asked questions

What is Conscious Connected Breathwork?

Conscious Connected Breath is a powerful therapeutic technique using a continual circular breathing pattern. When guided with intention and music, this rhythmic breath can help shift your emotional state, release suppressed tension and gently access deep healing.

Who is Breathwork for?

Breathwork is for anyone. If you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in a rut, needing clarity, and wanting to feel lighter, more relaxed, and experience a quieter mind. Whether you're navigating stress, processing emotions, seeking deeper self-awareness, or simply craving space to breathe and reset

Can I do breathwork if I’m a beginner?

Yes, breathwork is accessible to everyone. I guide you every step of the way and go at your pace. All that is required is an open heart and mind.

Is breathwork safe for everyone?

Most people can practice breathwork safely. However, it’s not recommended for those with severe cardiovascular issues, epilepsy, glaucoma, brain aneurysm, detatched retina or pregnancy unless cleared by a healthcare provider. Please inform me of any medical conditions.

What should I bring?

A yoga mat, blanket(you may experience a change in body temperature during the session) and bolster (to go under your knees for comfort- or a pillow) Please bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. You are welcome to bring a journal and pen if you would like to reflect or write after the session

What does a typical session involve?

Each session includes an opening grounding meditation, an explanation of the breath technique, 45/60 mins of guided breathwork with music and an optional sharing circle to close

What should I wear?

Comfort is key. I recommend wearing loose, breathable clothing so you can move and breathe freely, leggings or relaxed activewear work well. You may also want to bring a pair of cozy socks, as your body temperature can drop during breathwork, and keeping your feet warm helps you stay relaxed.

Will I have an emotional release

It is possible. And completely normal. Breathwork often releases built-up emotional tension. You are always held in a supportive space, and nothing is forced. You may cry, and you may also laugh and that is wonderful!

What else may I feel during a session?

Because we are using a continuous breath pattern, you may experience something called tetany, a temporary tightening or tingling in your hands and/or mouth. This is completely normal and safe. I can guide you back to a natural breath if it becomes uncomfortable.

What are the benefits of breathwork

Benefits include reduced stress and anxiety, emotional release, improved sleep, increased energy, better focus, enhanced creativity, and deeper self-connection

Can breathwork replace therapy?

Breathwork is complementary to therapy but not a replacement. Many people find it enhances therapeutic work. Please note I am not a councellor or therapist

Can I do breathwork if I am pregnant?

Please let me know if you are pregnant, and I can offer a more gentle breath, but always consult with your GP first.

Is there a class etiquette?

Please arrive 10 minutes ahead of the session to allow time to set up your space and get yourself comfortable. All phones must be switched to silent throughout the session. I also ask that during sharing circles each individual is given the space to share with no interruptions.

Where can I park?

There is pay and display parking on the streets in Muswell Hill and a pay and display car park behind the Everyman Cinema which is a short walk from the church. Please allow plenty of time for parking as it is a Saturday and likely to be a busy time.

Where do I go when I arrive?

The entrance is via a wooden arched door to the right of the church main entrance (if you are facing it). Please press the buzzer for the Alexandra room. I will be there to greet you.
