Event description

Description

We are excited to be able to offer a unique training opportunity in the Morecambe area!

BreathStars is an innovative programme developed by Heather Henry (Nurse entrepeneur, owner of Brightness management & founder of BreathStars and BreathChamps) delivered in partnership with Unlimited Potential and a professional music therapist.

The workshop demonstrates; tools, techniques, games and stories to help improve asthma knowledge in fun and memorable ways. The training aims to equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to deliver effective (and fun!) interventions aimed at improving understanding and management of asthma amongst 7-10 year olds.

“BreathStars is singing for lung health programme specifically for children with asthma. The evidence base is still emerging and so we have based our children’s learning programme on what we know works for adults with lung disease.

We know that it is important that we distinguish between social singing and the breathing techniques that we know are important for lung health.

We also incorporate memorable songs, poems, stories and games to teach children, families and the wider community about asthma. This approach is unique to BreathStars.”

The training is aimed at individuals working with primary school aged children. A programme for the day will be sent a week before the workshop.
